October 28

So I'm loving Sarah Addison Allen right now, too bad she only has three books published so far.

I heart novels, and I especially heart books that have multiple entwined stories going on, so that I feel like I'm getting a two for one deal.   While I'm hearting… I heart creative elements!  Each book has multiple characters that have some sort of oddity or a mystical quality.  Let's see,  like a girl who has books that just appear to her that are relevant to what's going on in her life (I want that!)…a giant…mood changing wallpaper…someone who can detect sweets and  a man who can't break his promises and so much more!

If you heart novels and like a bit of enchantment check her out!

No need to read them in order.

And the winner is…

June 27

Lisa Samson!

Lisa picked up another Chrisy award, this time for The Passion of Mary-Margaret.

Congrats girl!  Can't wait to see you in August!

Missed us?

February 18

We are back.  After a long and daunting ride home, we are back.

Thank you fabulous Samson's for having us.

We got to share in their community meal…which is no joke.  I'm telling you, they all can COOK!  Also, we got to peruse Lisa's finds for her new Bohemian tea shop called Cuppa.  Liam got to feed the chickens…yes, even though they live in an urban community, they have chickens…they are that cool.  Will has named their chick products "Ridiculously Local."  Isn't that a great name?  Anyway, Liam played wii until his brain melted and we were able to share wine and convo with everyone.  Love you guys!

Check this stuff out…Lisa's newest book…in cooperation with her daughter Ty and Will's newest book.

Enough: Contentment in an Age of Excess

November 9

This Swindoll quote, really resonated with me today.

“The longer I live, the more
I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more
important than facts. It is more important than the past, the
education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes,
than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than
appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a
church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday
regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change
our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain
way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play
on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced
that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And
so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes.”

To read or not to read

November 9

I went through a classics phase, where that's all I read.  Somehow I missed Alice in Wonderland.  I'm thinking  of reading it.  Is it worth a go?  To read or not to read AiW?!?!?

book burning

September 22

I never wanted to burn a book before.  That is, not until this past weekend.

Jen and I held a garage sale, as per usual, I had books to unload onto the public. As I looked at my garage sale heap, a twin book that I bought when pregnant, stared me in the face.  With loathing I remembered that book!

Let's back up a bit.  When I knew I was pregnant and having twins, I went to Borders for books!  Sadly, there was not much to choose from.  I got one of the only books there and read voraciously.

Why the loathing?

1.    She was full term, no bed rest, NONE!  Then she spoke about how some may spend a week or two on bed rest, and how to make it through.  HUMPH!!!!!!

2.  She had a natural delivery.  No c-section, minimal complication birth.  AAARGGH!!!!

3.  No NICU.

4.  Breastfed with ease.

5.  Oh, and did I mention, she lost all of her pregnancy weight and then some.  She's skinnier now…that's just offensive!

I need a zombie fix.

August 24

Earlier, I mentioned putting a hold (at the library) for~

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies:

The Classic Regency Romance

Well, I'm still waiting.  There are something like 14 copies and 18 holds on it.  It's also a 14 day loan.  Will I ever get to read this book?

Impatiently yours~

Jane Austen Fan

July 23

I've read a lot of Austen spin-offs, but this takes the cake for creativity.  I need to get my hands on a copy!

Pride And Prejudice And Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith

The original text of Jane Austen's classic novel – now with all-new
bone-crunching zombie action! A mysterious plague has befallen the
village of Meryton – the dead are returning to life, and Elizabeth
Bennet is determined to wipe the menace out, just as soon as she's
through sparring with that arrogant Mr. Darcy. A hilarious comedy of
manners and mangled corpses, complete with 20 illustrations in keeping
with the book's original style. Made in the USA.

*Just put this puppy on hold at the library.  Let you know the highs and lows Jennie!

Waiting with anticipation-
